Advanced Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training® takes yoga back to its roots as a creative learning process and an expansion of consciousness, not just a technique for health and fitness. In this unique forum for experienced teachers and practitioners, you will be learning from your own inquiry and experience, as well as from the shared knowledge and wisdom of your contemporaries.
From the early yoga shamans to innovators in modern times, yogis have left a trail of diverse methods for gaining access to the mysterious force of prana —what has come to be understood as a primary aspiration of yoga. In this unique, interdisciplinary approach to advanced-level teacher training you will be immersed in an expertly designed, experiential learning environment that is grounded in wisdom traditions of varied styles and traditions of yoga, combined with contemporary principles of wellness, adult learning psychology and psycho-spiritual self-development. While honoring the history of yoga, this training takes an evolutionary approach to yoga that helps you access inspiration for evolving into ways of practicing and teaching that fuel your personal evolution simultaneously participating with yoga’s continual evolution. The self-knowledge you gain from this training can provide a foundation for teaching any form of yoga without abandoning contact with your inner guidance or neglecting the wisdom flowing from your organism.
Building on thirty years of success in preparing over 4,000 teachers, (eleven years at Omega) to offer a non-authoritarian approach to dynamic yoga classes in a wide variety of settings, this advanced level, broad-based curriculum emphasizes teacher creativity as the essential ingredient for offering vibrant experiences to adult learners. Central to the training is an inquiry into what causes a successful teacher to develop into a successful yoga guide. Don and Amba are committed to helping each individual to find their own voice, their own style, and passion for teaching. The ultimate goal of this training is to provide you with the means to activate your students’ direct knowing by guiding experiences that support the ability to listen and respond to the intelligence in their own body/mind.
