Yoga Philosophy 101 for Yoga Teachers Practitioners page.

At Nosara Yoga Institute, Costa RicaDirected by Matt Remski

As lifelong students and teachers in the global yoga movement, how do we sort through and utilize the multiple and conflicting messages of yoga philosophy? Is there a best way to read old books? What about oral traditions? Who has interpretive authority? What is cultural appropriation, and how can it be avoided? What about the “religion” question? What are the passions that drive us to learn, and what do they make us see, and miss? Are there streams of yoga philosophy that can effectively resist the imbalances of global capitalism? Are these ancient lenses perennial, or outdated, or a little of both?
