Jeannette Vargas, RYT 500


When visiting the Nosara Yoga Institute, you are likely to be greeted by the warm and friendly presence of Jeannette Vargas. A native of Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Jeannette went to high school in Nosara and then studied Tourism in Nicoya, graduating in April of 2008. Jeannette joined the NYI Team in March 2008. Utilizing her experience in Costa Rican tourism and extensive knowledge of the Nosara area, Jeannette is instrumental in guiding and assuring that students make the most of their visit to Costa Rica.

Johanns Pereira


Johanns is a web developer and producer with over fifteen years of professional experience in the web design and production industries. As the president of Arts+Media, a web design and production company based in San Jose, Costa Rica, he specialize in building creative websites for businesses, focusing primarily on custom CMS design and development. When he is not drinking coffee and writing code, Johanns is drinking coffee and producing events and concerts. He is a proud father and a long-time friend of the Nosara Yoga Institute where he has served as webmaster since 2001.

Karuna Ma, M.Ed., CNYE-500

Curriculum Advisor

Claudia Saucy aka Karuna Ma is a Certified Nosara Yoga Educator. She holds a Masters in Education. Most recently she left her career in formal education to join the Nosara Yoga Institute. As she gracefully responds to website inquiries and supports the organization of NYI programs, she continues her inquiry into yoga and body/centered healing modalities including Ayurveda and Bach Flowers. Karuna Ma was born in the US and raised in Europe, she speaks 5 languages and is at home here in Nosara since 2010.

Luis Enrique Morera, MBA


Luis Enrique has a Masters degree in Business specialized in Finance from the University of Costa Rica. While working for more than 20 years with multinational companies, he acquired extensive experience that now is at the service of Nosara Yoga Institute to contribute to the best management practices.   As a team player he likes coaching and learning new things, which right now includes learning portuguese as a third language.   Luis Enrique enjoys family time, mountain bike, traveling, and of course, making new friends!

Rodrigo Oviedo

Rodrigo Oviedo

Graphic Designer and Producer

Rodrigo's got a bachelor degree in Graphic Arts from University of Costa Rica. He worked several years at an advertising agency, and later created his own company on graphic design and music production. He has worked since 2000 designing and composing for NYI. His work goes from creating design campaigns to composing music for different media, producing for several artists, and playing with his band Peregrino Gris (Grey Pilgrim): the first costarrican celtic and folk music band. His musical studies have been informal but he is continuously taking classes on harmony, counterpoint, arranging and producing with qualified teachers.
